Jump to navigation. This new online feature allows you to build a castle, customizing its terrain and stationing your units as you like. Then, competing armies can attempt to seize your castle in order to earn rewards and climb the leaderboards. By defeating an opponent in their own castle, you either get to recruit one of their units or learn one of their skills. Instead, players choose to inherit skills simply because of how much it streamlines an otherwise complex skill-inheritance system. Some of the most effective skill spreads require you to change your class at the very beginning of the game, level up to max level, beat the game and store your character in your unit log book, and then re-purchase the skill from your game clear file in a brand new game.
In Fire Emblem Fates, characters learns a variety of Skills depending on their chosen class. Skills can be learned when a character reaches a specific level in their current class, depending on what tier that class is. If a character reaches level 15 or higher in a promoted class, and they reclass into something else, they will learn the class skill of its first tier class if it has not been learned before the promoted skill. Every time the unit levels up, they will learn an earlier skill until all new skills are acquired. In addition to other skills learned, every unit in the game has a unique personal skill that cannot be removed.
